'King of Kowloon Street Run' theme
In line with RunOurCity’s fun-filled races, this year’s theme is 'King of Kowloon Street Run' with runners dressing up as 'King of Street Run'. Runners can also immerse themselves into the history of Kowloon as they pass by Sung Wong Toi, a historical relic in memory of this king.

Performances and cheering teams are scattered along the race course. Star Supporters include actress Mandy Wong, singer Shiga Lin, model Margiela Kwok, Hong Kong beach volleyball team members Cat Ng and Mei Wong, and triathlon sportswoman Tina Chan. They all took part in the race. Runners also unleashed their creativity, dressing up to compete for the 'Funniest Outfit Award' as they enjoy the run.

The event is open to runners, their families and friends, as well as the general public in the community, with the Hong Kong STREETATHON Carnival and Give Me Five Concert at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, offering an array of exciting games, workshops and food and beverage. Bands performing at the Give Me Five Concert are Jumper from the musical Unforgettable Era, with member from Mr. KOLOR, LMF and RubberBand; groovy band Blaster; heavy metal Instinct of Sight, and positive energy-filled Zpecial.

STREETATHON – a new path in fund raising
Andrea Wong, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer of AXA Hong Kong, said, 'This is AXA’s fourth year as the title sponsor of Hong Kong STREETATHON. We are very pleased to promote the message of health to the community through this meaningful event. Through 'AXA HONG KONG STREETATHON @kowloon 2017', we hope to encourage people to set their personal goals and develop a habit of exercise for a better life.'

An innovative social enterprise, RunOurCity has been promoting a new mode of running which runs the streets and connects the community to raise funds for charity and create great social impacts. Since its establishment in 2013, RunOurCity has been raising funds for over 18 charitable organisations through STREETATHONs and other races over the past three years.

AXA HONG KONG STREETATHON@kowloon 2017 raises funds for two charities: Playtao Education Ltd and RunOurCity Foundation’s 'Youth.ROC' program. Playtao Education Ltd is an ongoing extra-curricular program that offers all-rounded after school activities, from homework tutoring to activities that get students in touch with society and life education, so that children can develop holistically. 'Youth.ROC' is an 8-week professional and systematic running program for young people. With the aim of training them to run a 10km race, the program nurtures not only an interest in long distance running, but also the never-give-up marathon spirit, confidence, persistence and health, thereby changing their lives.

Apart from registering for the race, the general public can join this meaningful event by making a donation at http://runour.city/ks_donate.

Runners take off their jackets just before they start the race and put them into designated recycling bins.
