The Security Bureau of Hong Kong has issued Red Outbound Travel Alert (‘OTA’) on 08 October 2023, 22:00 (the ‘OTA Issuing Time’) for Israel, please click this hyperlink for the details.

For customers with the scheduled trips confirmed and the SmartTraveller Plus policies applied successfully before the OTA Issuing Time,  please find below benefit highlight for cancellation or curtailment of your trips:

1.   Section 9 – Loss of Trip Cancellation or Cancellation of Trip
Under the situation that a Red OTA is issued within 7 days before departure date of the scheduled trip, 50% of your irrecoverable deposits or charges of transportation, accommodation or missed events will be covered.

2.  Section 10 – Trip Curtailment
Under Red OTA, 50% of the proportional irrecoverable deposits or charges of transportation, accommodation or missed events will be covered; alternatively, 50% of the additional transportation (economy class only) and accommodation expenses will be covered. 

Please be aware that we will only reimburse losses up to the insured limits specified in different plans. Section 9 and Section 10 are not applicable to the Budget Plan of SmartTraveller Plus.
