'Climate change' remains at the top

In our latest Future Risks Report, climate change remains the top concern for experts on every continent. The survey indicates that 77% of the general public who prioritised this risk in their top five say they feel vulnerable to its impact in their everyday life, up from 73% in last year’s survey, and it now ties with the risk of pollution in 2024 for the first time.

87% of experts believe that the world is more vulnerable than it was five years ago. Our survey also shows that 91% of experts and 72% of the general public believe that we have a crucial role to play in protecting people against emerging risks going forward. Indeed, Insurers are core actors in the global response to these major challenges. Therefore, at AXA, we are leading the way in climate transition with multi-faceted approach. Our efforts range from business-centric solutions like our proprietary climate risk consultancy through AXA Climate, to enhance insurance coverage against extreme weather events. Our commitment extends into community-oriented initiatives, including educational programs and our sponsorship of the Green Power Hike. These actions are integral to our pledge for sustainable operations.

At AXA, we believe that the future is in our hands. We should not be fatalistic about rising vulnerability, but instead see it as an even greater responsibility to fully deploy our expertise to address and mitigate potential risks.

In the future, AXA will remain committed to its mission: to act for human progress by protecting what matters.
